Call for Papers

Share your research with the swarm behavior and bio-inspired robotics community.

There are three options for submission: full paper, short paper or abstract. The page limits for full papers, short papers, abstracts are 8, 4, 2 pages, respectively. Up to two additional pages are acceptable and charged for full papers. No additional pages are allowed for abstracts and short papers.

Full papers and short papers should report on new unpublished work. Surveys are also welcome as full papers. Abstracts will not be peer-reviewed and can report on previously published work with the expectation of offering new viewpoints on that work.

Possible areas for submission are in biology: Social insect, Evolution cooperation, Ethology, Social physiology, Adaptation, Self-organization, Sociometry, Phase polyphenism, Quorum sensing and in engineering: Swarm intelligence, Swarm robotics, Biomimetics, Bio-inspired robotics, Multi-agent system, Walking robots, Modular robotics, Decentralized control, Distributed system.

Special Issue

Selected papers will be invited for further revision and extension for possible publication in a special issue of Artificial Life and Robotics, Springer.

Formatting

The use of LaTeX/MS-Word with the following style format is strongly recommended for preparing your manuscripts. The MS-WORD template in a single-column format is available only for abstracts without figures and tables.

File naming should follow this convention: <name-of-work>_<last name of author>.<extension>

Submission Policies & Guidelines

1. Timezone & Hard Deadlines

All online submission system portals (EasyChair / OpenReview) will automatically close at 23:59 (UTC+7) on the published date. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit their manuscripts at least 24 hours prior to the deadline to avoid potential network congestion or formatting issues.

2. Dual Submission & Originality Policy

Submissions must reflect original, unpublished work and must not be currently under review by another conference, journal, or workshop. Plagiarism and duplicate submissions will result in immediate desk rejection.

3. Publication & Presentation Requirement

At least one author of each accepted paper or poster must complete a Full Author Registration by July 5, 2027 (UTC+7) and present the work in person during the symposium. Papers without a registered author by this deadline will be removed from the final proceedings.

4. Registration Refunds & Transfers

  • Early Bird Rates: Valid until July 10, 2027 (23:59 UTC+7). Standard rates apply thereafter.
  • Author Registrations: Non-refundable once camera-ready papers are processed into the proceedings.
